What is the objective of the Toronto Quran Exhibition?

The exhibition seeks to educate Muslims and non-Muslims on the history of English translation of the Quran and how a translator’s background has influenced certain translations. It is also intended to show how the richness of Quranic Arabic language has challenged translators in their various works.

Who can benefit from the Exhibition?

The Exhibition will be useful to college and university students and academia interested in the study of the Quran as well as Muslims and non-Muslims yearning to know more about the history of English translations of the Arabic script.

When and where will it take place?

The exhibition will take place at AlZahra Islamic Center in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada from Friday April 15, 2022 to Sunday April 17, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm.

The exhibition will also be at Kitchener Masjid in Kitchener on Sunday 24th April 2022 from 2:30 pm – 6:00 pm

Who is involved in the organizing of the Exhibition?

The Exhibition is organized by Muslims youths from various backgrounds and from different schools.

The following items will be covered in this exhibition:

Exhibit 57 translations of the Quran in English
Exhibit 21 Items on Learning Qur’anic Arabic
Exhibit 6 Items on Qur’anic Calligraphy
Exhibit 6 Items on Review of English Translation of the Qur’an

Would the live lectures and demonstration of online resources be at particular times?

A schedule will be set up so attendees can plan accordingly.

I live outside the Greater Toronto Area. Can I still volunteer for the project?

Yes, you can help with gathering digital information and select clips on the Holy Quran for displaying at the Exhibition. Additionally, you can consider having a similar exhibition in your city.
